Veneer Bunch Clipper with Laser Line Veneer Grading Conveyor Available in the following standard knife lengths: 60" (1524 mm) 70" (1778 mm) 80" (2032 mm) 110" (2794 mm) 132" (3430 mm) Designed to accurately cut multiple sheets (bunches) of veneer, this guillotine-style clipper features a "rocking" motion for smooth, efficient shearing action. Straight knife, one piece design, with shearing action from either end to facilitate waste conveyor takeaway, or 2-piece knife with traditional straight up and down shearing action to center of clipper. Closed loop A.C. servo motor drive with reducer and spring engaged brake for failsafe operation. The knife can be "parked" in the down position when the clipper is not in use, for extra safety. "Overhung" physical design to allow waste veneer to fall straight down vertically — no chutes are required. Conveyor belts are “toothed” timing belt style for positive traction and accuracy. Hold down belts with individual adjustable air pressure. Belts run on raised guide ways mounted on a full hardwood plywood conveyor top. Automatic air operated trash gate is available as an option. Manual or automatic operation. In automatic mode, the laser line at the grading station is moved via handwheel to desired positions on the veneer, i.e. adjacent to defects and knots, etc. Clipping is exactly on each registered laser line point, or discrete veneer sizes can be entered to optimize veneer yield or maximum dollar value according to grade. The veneer is accurately transferred to the knife and automatically clipped, eliminating the need for a clipper operator.
